Welcome to Walkin’ with Will: Sonnets, Trails, & Trees!

You have until 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 to complete this textual treasure hunt! Winners will be drawn at 5 p.m. MST on Monday, July 27 LIVE on Facebook and Instagram.

What you can win by entering:

  • Two Day Passes to Lowell Observatory
  • A First Edition Signed Copy of George Breed’s “Walking Flagstaff” courtesy of Soulstice Publishing

How to win one of the wonderful prizes:
Walk to a location on the map and pull up the corresponding sonnets, monologue, or poems. You can read them, or listen to the recordings (or both). Then record yourself on location speaking a few favorite lines from the text. Upload to social media and tag @FlagShakes and #walkinwithwill. Repeat at 2 more locations for a chance to win! Don’t forget to swing by Sweet Shoppe Candy Store for 50% off any size gelato!

Not on social media? Email your entries to [email protected], be sure to include whether or not you’re comfortable with us sharing them on our socials.

Not in Flagstaff? Choose your own locations to pair with the text. We encourage you to explore your city! The “wildcard” works anywhere!

Arboretum
Visiting The Arb during one of their teacher or mentor-led walks such as the Wildflower Walk on Saturday, July 25th requires registration the day before you visit, as they are limited to 9 people. If you want to visit The Arb on your own, all you need to do is show up when they are open! The Arb recommends that you wear a mask and remain socially distant. At this time they are not charging for admission, though if it’s within your means we suggest a donation as a thank you. Be sure to review their website at thearb.org to stay up-to-date on their announcements!
