“Long version: I had high expectations for the trip to the Utah Shakespeare Festival (USF) organized by the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival.  They were greatly exceeded.  The quality of the performances was superb — reason enough to make the trip to Cedar City.  What made the experience exceptional, though, was its stress-free and immersive nature.  Hannah, who organized and led the tour, is not only a veteran performer but an alum of Southern Utah University who has deep knowledge of theater and life in Cedar City.  The schedule she developed supported our needs beautifully.  Thanks to engaging and informative conversations with Hannah, and the numerous seminars hosted by USF, we developed a much stronger appreciation for all that goes into delivering the amazing performances we’ve enjoyed at USF and FlagShakes. In addition to the USF-focused activities, we had time to explore and relax.  The hotel’s close proximity to the USF campus and the downtown area made the days that much more enjoyable and effortless.  We returned to Flagstaff entertained, rejuvenated, and more knowledgeable.  We’re already looking forward to the possibility that FlagShakes will host another trip in 2023.

Short version: FlagShakes organized a stress-free, immersive trip to the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and we returned to Flagstaff entertained, rejuvenated, and more knowledgeable about theater.”

“The 2022 FlagShakes tour to the Utah Shakespeare Festival was a delight. We were very well cared for by our tour guide. She made sure all the details were taken care of so we could relax and enjoy the shows. She was also a FlagShakes artist who is very familar with USF. She gave us behind-the-scenes details about what it’s like to work in regional theater. Optional seminars and group meals allowed us to interact as we wished with other tour members. We greatly enjoyed the plays and the environment of Cedar City, which is so much like Flagstaff (including its monsoon afternoons!). All in all, this was a wonderful experience and just what I hoped for. I will definitely go again.”
