2026 Season Auditions are open! Please note, we are a non-equity company who hires both local and non-local professional actors. Contracts typically range between 4-8 weeks. Stipends usually range from $300-$1,000 depending on show, role, and season. Housing and travel stipends available for out-of-town actors.
Casting Call
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival’s (affectionately known as FlagShakes) 2026 season. FlagShakes is located in Flagstaff, AZ, and is one of the top professional theaters in Northern Arizona. FlagShakes produces classics of the Renaissance, as well as other actor-driven plays.
There are two ways for you to audition—either by attending our combined in-person auditions with Theatrikos Theatre Company, or by sending in a video:
- For In-Person Auditions: Submit this audition form, and see the info about the combined in-person auditions.
- For Video Auditions: Submit this audition form.
- After submitting either form, email your headshot, résumé, and audition video (if applicable) to Racquel McKenzie at rmckenzie@flagshakes.org. If auditioning in person, email Racquel to schedule a time slot. Please label files as FirstName LastName Item (e.g., John Smith Resume).
Combined, in-person auditions with Theatrikos Theatre Company will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at the Doris Harper-White Playhouse, 11 West Beaver Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Please email Racquel McKenzie for an audition time slot.
For either in-person or video auditions, please prepare two contrasting monologues at about one minute each. Choice of one Shakespeare and one classical/contemporary, or two Shakespeare monologues. If you sing, play an instrument, or have a unique skill, you may include that in your audition as many of our shows include music and singing.
Submission Deadline: February 7th for an in-person audition slot (time slots are encouraged, but walk-ins will be seen as time allows), and February 13th, at 5:00 PM MST for self-tape auditions.
