Season 2025 auditions are open! Please note, we are a non-equity company who hires both local and non-local professional actors. Contracts typically range between 4-8 weeks. Stipends usually range from $300-$1,000 depending on show, role, and season. Housing and travel stipends available for out-of-town actors.

Casting Call

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival’s (affectionately known as FlagShakes) 2025 season. FlagShakes is located in Flagstaff, AZ, and is one of the top professional theaters in northern Arizona. FlagShakes produces classics of the Renaissance, as well as other actor-driven plays.
In-person auditions will be held on March 29th, 2025 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at the Beaver Street Theater at 11 S Beaver St, #2 Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Please prepare two contrasting monologues at about one minute each. Choice of one Shakespeare and one classical/contemporary, or two Shakespeare monologues. If you sing, play an instrument, or have a unique skill, you may include that in your audition as many of our shows include music and singing.

FlagShakes Core Company

FlagShakes is excited to have a talented and hard working core company. This company consists of 10 actors (3 spots available) who want to participate actively in the upcoming season.

Core Company Member Requirements:

  • Arizona Based
  • Have been in at least four FlagShakes productions or three consecutive seasons

Core Company Member Benefits:

  • Guaranteed at least one role in a mainstage FlagShakes production per season, schedule permitting.
  • Yearly auditions will not be required, just resubmission of headshot/bio
  • Stipends for mainstage will be increased 15% above budgeted offer amounts per production
  • Each Core Company Member will be provided two complimentary tickets per show, whether they appear in the show or not
  • Actors can provide a “dream list” of three roles for each production they are particularly interested in to the Casting Director for which they will be highly considered
  • Core Company casting offers for the full season will be sent shortly following auditions so the Core Company has their schedules well in advance
  • Optional membership on an Artistic Summit held yearly in collaboration with the FlagShakes Board and Staff
  • First consideration will be given for additional paid opportunities such as design roles, one-off events, and educational workshops
  • Core Company Members will receive special recognition on the website
